An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Contracts Manager to join our Bristol Asbestos Branch.


Main Duties:

  • Assist the Branch Manager as necessary to ensure both client requirements and company profit targets are met
  • Ensure site-specific risk assessments and detailed method statements are compliant with HSE regulations, convey the information contained within the site-specific risk assessment/method statement to site personnel to ensure full understanding
  • Create clear and accurate job files ensuring all relevant documentation is contained before submitting for archiving
  • Ensure that all team members are aware of health and safety requirements, continually seek ways to improve the work environment and take effective action in response to breaches in health and safety requirements
  • Ensure all Health & Safety paperwork is complete
  • Readily accept responsibility for contracts finances, monitor profit against set targets, monitor contracts expenditure and wages against budget
  • Supervise the work of operatives and supervisors ensuring work is undertaken to the highest standards and in accordance with client’s specifications
  • Ensure sub-contract Companies and labour are competent in the tasks that are required of them
  • Monitor contract progress ensuring compliance with specifications and conditions so that targets and contractual obligations are met
  • Participate in meetings, ensuring decisions and actions are carried out and communicated to appropriate personnel via tool box talks and supervisor/operatives meetings

Qualifications and experience:

  • Evidence some management experience and display good all-round interpersonal skills as well as leadership and people management skills
  • Evidence some experience of being able to successfully manage both small and large scale projects through to completion
  • Be commercially astute, a role requirement will be to negotiate “profitable” contracts in detail and build long term client relationships
  • Be able to understand all Financial aspects of the Contract Management process and be able to produce detailed working programmes and plans of work
  • Be able to adapt the style of communication to meet the needs of the audience, the role is client-facing and involves working with at all levels within organisations (Senior Directors, Site Operatives, Major and Sub Contractors, Local Authorities etc.)
