Our Southampton Asbestos Branch is looking for either a trainee or an experienced Contracts Manager to support in the management of an experienced team of removers; identify and manage some elements of the technical aspects of the removal process, learn to effectively price projects, develop a team and assist with the growth of the business.
Main Duties:
- Identify, win and develop new clients and maintain the highest level of service for our existing client base
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with customers and suppliers
- Arrange workload and resources to ensure the client and company needs are always met
- Attend site visits and prepare, issue and monitor quotations, liaising with clients accordingly
- Preparation of site-specific risk assessments and statements, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations; convey the information contained within the assessments/statements to site personnel to ensure full understanding
- Gain a thorough understanding of the Company’s health and safety procedures, adhering to and enforcing them at all times
- Oversee work carried out by removal teams to ensure the highest standard of workmanship is achieved at all times
- Ensure sub-contract companies and labourers are competent in the tasks that are required of them
- Maintain databases
Qualifications and experience:
- Evidence of some management experience, and display good all-around interpersonal skills as well as leadership and people management skills. The role is client-facing and involves working at all levels within organisations (Senior Directors, Site Operatives, Major and Sub Contractors, Local Authorities etc.).
- Evidence of some experience of being able to successfully manage both small and large-scale projects through to completion.
- To be commercially astute, a role requirement will be to negotiate “profitable” contracts in detail and build long-term client relationships.
- Be able to understand all financial aspects of the Contract Management process and be able to produce detailed working programmes and plans of work.
- Having an understanding of quality systems such as ISO 9000 would be advantageous.
- Monitor contract progress; assist the Regional Director as necessary to ensure both client requirements and company profit targets are met.
Requirements:
- Experience in contract management or related roles preferred
- Able to evidence involvement in successfully managing small and large-scale projects, through to completion
- To be commercially astute and able to negotiate “profitable” contracts and build long-term client relationships
- Able to understand all financial aspects of the contract management process and be able to produce detailed working programmes/plans of work
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; comfortable working with a variety of people at all levels of the business
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Having an understanding of quality systems such as ISO 9001 would be advantageous
