Shield Golf Day 2017

The Shield Golf Day took place on 10th October to join clients and colleagues of Shield together for a bit of healthy competition and fun, and to raise money for a charitable cause. There were 15 teams of four that attended and played the championship course at De Vere, Wokefield Estate, a beautiful venue and golf course just outside Reading.

Guests were greeted with bacon rolls and coffee on arrival where they had a chance to meet or catch up with one another. Following collection of buggies, play started with a shotgun start at 11am across various holes of the golf course. The weather was dry for the afternoon and as for the golf -the standard and scoring had dramatically improved from last year.

At 4:30 we watched a golf trick show put on specially for us, after which we headed back to our rooms to freshen up before a meal and awards presentation was held in the mansion suite at De Vere.

In third place was our London team – Ryan, Tim, Tony and Mick, in second place, the BD team – Olly, Tom, Garry and Julian, and the overall winners of the day was the Willmott Dixon team. Congratulations!

To everyone who attended, we’d like to say thank you for coming, we had a wonderful day and we hope you did too, and our combined effort raised £7261 towards our cause. Thank you!
