Shield Makes Key Appointments To Crucial SHEQ Team

Promotions Provide Consistency Of Approach In Support Of Shield Divisions and Clients

Shield Services Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Helen Barrett to the position of Group SHEQ Director, whilst Will Graham moves into the role of Head of Health and Safety.  The appointments ensure that the Safety First culture that is core to the operation of all Shield divisions is maintained and built upon, ensuring that our colleagues and clients operate in safe conditions.

When asked about her appointment, Helen Barrett, Group SHEQ Director, commented, “I am delighted to have been appointed to this key Group position and I am looking forward to working with our knowledgable and strong team, with the support of Will in his new role.  I learned a lot from my predecessor, and I am looking forward to building upon the great foundations that we have in place. I have worked with all of our divisions for some time and look forward to getting into greater detail with them to ensure that we provide the best possible service. The field of SHEQ is continually evolving and I will be progressing the team to ensure that we remain ahead of the competition. I am also keen to develop our sustainability and Net Zero plan further, alongside key colleagues from across the Group.

Will Graham, Shield Group’s New Head of Health and Safety, reflected, “I am delighted to move into the new role of Head of Health and Safety, and I feel that the new role will complement both the SHEQ Team and the wider business. I am looking forward to working with and supporting Helen in her new role as we look to drive Shield’s Safety First culture even further forward. I am very much looking forward to gaining a stronger understanding of our different operations across the group and working with our great regional teams across the country. The role will enable us to focus on the best health and safety practices in the business, and allow us to share with all.

Shield Services Group Chairman, Luke House, commented, “After careful consideration of these key positions, it became apparent that our new SHEQ director was already within our midst. Helen has earned respect all over the business with her can-do attitude, tireless work ethic, diplomatic nature and natural leadership qualities.

We also identified that we wanted a further boost of Health and Safety experience and leadership to enable us to continue to be market leaders in Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality. Fortunately, once again, Will was already with us. With his calm approach, ability to communicate with any audience, vast amount of experience and his tenacious attitude for getting things right, the new team is stronger than ever.”
